Emergency Loans NZ
For the thing that could not wait.
A burst pipe, a root canal, a flight you have to be on. A fixed loan, arranged properly even when the clock is loud.
Why a loan instead of the savings?
Emptying the emergency fund for one emergency leaves nothing for the next one. A fixed loan spreads the hit into a repayment that fits your fortnight.
- ✓Keep your savings buffer intact
- ✓A fixed repayment instead of a maxed card
- ✓The whole cost shown before you say yes1
- ✓An honest no if borrowing would make things worse

All guidesQuestions? We've got answers
How fast can I get the money?
Honestly: it depends on the lender and how quickly you can confirm your details. Once a lender approves and you sign, payout is commonly within a business day or two. We will not promise a number we have not measured; your adviser will give you a realistic timeline up front, not after.
Can I get an emergency loan with bad credit?
Often yes, but with fewer options and a higher rate, and you deserve to see that cost in dollars before deciding. Panel lenders price a wider range of credit histories than a bank, and your adviser will tell you what is realistic before anything goes near a lender.
Will checking my rate affect my credit score?
No. Checking your rate with BorrowClub does not affect your credit score.2 A hard enquiry only happens if you choose an offer and ask the lender to proceed.
Is a loan the right answer for a small emergency?
Not always. For a few hundred dollars, Work and Income advances, talking to the provider about a payment plan, or a no-interest scheme like Good Shepherd lending can beat any commercial loan. If a loan is the wrong tool, we would rather tell you now than collect a fee.
