Car Repair Loans NZ

The car has to work. So fix it.

A failed WOF, a cambelt, a transmission making that noise. When the car gets you to work, the repair is not optional.

Why finance a repair

A four-figure repair bill rarely arrives when the account is full. A fixed loan gets the car back on the road without the card taking the hit.

  • ✓Covers the quote, not a round number you did not need
  • ✓A fixed repayment instead of a revolving balance
  • ✓Works with any workshop's quote
  • ✓The whole cost shown before the work starts1

Questions? We've got answers

Should I repair or replace the car?

The cold maths: if the repair costs more than the car is worth, or this is the third big repair this year, financing a different car can beat financing the fix. Your adviser can run both numbers side by side, including what car finance would look like.

The bill is only a few hundred dollars. Should I borrow?

Probably not from a commercial lender. Ask the workshop about a payment plan first, and for small essential repairs, Work and Income help or community no-interest lending can beat any loan. We would rather point you there than arrange something that costs you more.

Will checking my rate affect my credit score?

No. Checking your rate with BorrowClub does not affect your credit score.2 A hard enquiry only happens if you choose an offer and ask the lender to proceed.
